VincentCare’s new world-class Homeless Accommodation and Resource Centre in North Melbourne is leading the way in homelessness services with an integrated accommodation, health and wellbeing centre that supports people through their individual recovery journey.

The new Homeless Accommodation and Resource Centre provides a range of services from crisis accommodation, through to intensive case management and drop-in support across health, meals, and recreational activities.

The Roles:

• Team Leader x 1

The Team Leader is fully responsible and accountable for service delivery, supervising VincentCare GreenLight Supportive Housing Workers and a Peer Resettlement Support Worker, and sets goals for the team. The role has responsibility for a reduced caseload providing case management and service co-ordination support to GreenLight clients.

Selection Criteria:

• Appropriate degree qualification relevant to the delivery of community services e.g. Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy or equivalent;
• Demonstrated ability to coach, supervise and provide leadership to staff;
• Demonstrated ability to ensure service delivery outcomes meet the required target;
• Ability to use initiative frequently to solve current and future service delivery challenges;
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in case management and service coordination in one or more of the following areas: homelessness, mental health, dual diagnosis, alcohol and other drugs;
• Sound knowledge of a variety of theoretical frameworks and strategies applicable for working with clients with complex needs;
• Demonstrated use of recovery principles in case management practice.

• Supportive Housing Workers x 3

This role provides assertive engagement, brief intervention, case management and service coordination with people who have experienced chronic homelessness and/or primary homelessness. The role will work to ensure that the service provided is person centred, effective in achieving client goals, program outcomes, and are of the highest quality in accordance with VincentCare’s values and legislative and funding requirements.

Selection Criteria:

• Appropriate degree qualification relevant to the delivery of community services e.g. Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy or equivalent. Candidates with Diploma qualifications and outstanding relevant experience may be considered;
• Demonstrated experience in case management (anticipated 2 years recent experience);
• Experience in assisting clients to navigate different service systems to meet their needs;
• Proven ability to effectively manage challenging behaviours and respond to crisis situations;
• Sound knowledge of a variety of theoretical frameworks and strategies applicable for working with clients with complex needs;
• Knowledge of recovery principles and the ability to apply them in broader casework practice;
• Good interpersonal skills including both verbal and written communication.

• Team Leader SCHADS Level 6 $80,818 - $84,394 + super + leave loading and salary packaging
• Supportive Housing Workers – SCHADS Level 5 $74,238 - $77,598 + super + leave loading and salary packaging
