Job Description
TaylorCare is looking for Mental Health Clinicians to offer mental health support, suicide prevention and early intervention in schools across Melbourne in a new mental health promotion program.

The Mental Health Clinician will support school communities to promote mental health awareness, prevention and early intervention with the goal of improving outcomes for young people and their families. The role, in consultation with the State Manager, will provide clinical oversight, governance and leadership in state/territory initiatives, strategies and projects. Furthermore, the Consultant – MHE (Clinical) will assist with the induction of new staff and provide clinical supervision as required.

The key aims in this position are to ensure:
  • Provision of primary, secondary and/or tertiary consultation, support and assistance to schools and communities affected by suicide
  • Provision of clinical oversight and clinical governance as well as clinical supervision
  • Maintaining an ongoing relationship with participating schools so that services know who to speak to when they have a question or a challenge.
To be eligible to apply you will need the following: 
  • BA in Psychology, Counselling or Mental Health Nursing
  • Registration or eligibility with the appropriate body eg AHPRA, AASW, ACA
  • Experience working with children and/or young people with mental illness and demonstrated knowledge of mental health issues as well as legislation and mental health policies in Australia
  • Practical experience in case management, including case management to children and young people with mental health issues.
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement and confidence in public speaking
  • A current driver’s licence and use of a fully maintained motor vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
  • Able and willing to travel at short notice, with overnight stays as required.
