New Year’s resolutions have come and gone. Have you stopped to reflect mid-year on how you’re doing? Are you on track to end 2017 with a BANG?
I know how busy life can be for us all and sometimes you wonder how you have time to breathe some weeks let alone set or achieve new goals.
What if I said it’s ok to be busy, stressed and at times overwhelmed when you look at the future? The key is to find strategies to help you move forward in your life even through stressful times.
My Top tips for setting goals:
Have one evening a week or a day on the weekend where you prepare for the week ahead. This is a good time to plan your meals, washing & working out a to-do list for your work week.
Monday mornings at work- Use this time to set up your week; have meetings lined up with your team or manager so you can focus for the week ahead.
Start a journal – I like to sit down once a month/once a quarter and work on the goals I want to achieve now and in the future.
Make time for relaxation and self-care in your diary. I am aware when I’m in a busy season, some weeks I just need to take a few hours out for myself and get a massage or meet up with a friend for lunch. Make sure you do this!
Professional development- No matter where you are in your career, make time to invest in training – it gives you fresh ideas and enthusiasm for what you’re doing.
I have found following these steps has helped me in setting goals even through the busy periods of life. I would love to hear what your top tips might be too?
